President Macky Sall
4th President of Senegal & Founder and Chair of the Macky Sall Foundation P2D
President Macky Sall is a geological engineer and geophysicist who served as the Prime Minister of Senegal from 2004 to 2007; the President of the Senegalese National Assembly from 2007 to 2008; the Mayor of Fatick from 2009 to 2012; and the President of Senegal from 2012 to 2024. As part of the latter mandate, he served as President-in-Office of the African Union for the period 2022-2023, during which the African Union was successfully admitted as a full member of the G20.

The Macky Sall Foundation for Peace, Dialogue, and Development (MSF-P2D) draws upon President Macky Sall’s unique legacy and leadership to champion a vision of an “Emergent Africa”—a continent that is stable, peaceful, and sustainably developed for the benefit of its people and the global community. With President Sall’s direct commitment and active engagement, MSF-P2D seeks to foster peace and sustainable development across Africa, while promoting harmonious coexistence among cultures and communities. MSF-P2D is poised to play a pivotal role in bringing together regional and global partners, dismantling silos, and fostering constructive solutions to support Africa’s progress.
